Study Reports
This page contains the final study reports from our research on shopping accessibility for people with visual impairment. It includes our literature review, findings from a contextual inquiry study, and results from an experimental comparison of VR shopping and mobile app shopping. The reports also present key insights and proposed design guidelines to support the development of more inclusive and accessible virtual shopping experiences

01 Literature Review Report
This report presents an overview of our literature review conducted to understand the everyday challenges and behavioural characteristics of people with visual impairment, with specific focus on shopping activities in both physical stores and online platforms. It also compiles key accessibility recommendations reported in prior research. The full report is available for download in PDF format.
02 Contextual Inquiry
This report presents insights from a contextual inquiry conducted with people with visual impairment to understand their shopping experiences. It describes the study methodology and key findings on shopping behaviors, preferences, challenges, and technology use across both offline (in-store) and online shopping. The full report is available for download in PDF format.

03 Design Guidelines
This report presents a scientific comparative study conducted with people with visual impairment to evaluate VR-based shopping versus mobile app shopping. It outlines the study methodology and shares evidence-based findings derived from participant performance and user feedback. Based on these results, the report proposes design guidelines to support researchers and designers in creating more accessible and inclusive virtual shopping experiences.
